Jaylon Black scored 12 points, and the Smith Vocational boys basketball team out lasted Hampden Charter 50-47 on Thursday night in Northampton.

Myles Chinnapa hit a 3 and scored 11 for the Vikings, while David Collazo added 10.

Smith Vocational (1-1) turned a five-point deficit at the end of the first quarter to a nine-point advantage by halftime.
