Griffin Smiarowski poured in a game-high 24 points, including 15 in the second half, to go with 12 rebounds as the Smith Academy boys basketball team used a big effort out of halftime to pull away for a 65-52 independent victory over Hampshire Regional on Wednesday night in Westhampton.
The host Raiders led 28-27 at halftime, but Smith Academy outscored them by a 38-24 margin over the final two quarters.
Greg Stone (12 points) and Garrett Willard (11) joined Smiarowski in double figures for the Falcons, while Ryan Belina added eight points in the win.
Hampshire’s Kyle Dale paced the hosts with 21 points, including four 3-pointers. Adam Gobsinski also drilled four 3’s and finished with 12 points for the Raiders.
