Amherst’s Beckett Baird flew down the mountain at Berkshire East on Thursday during the fourth PVIAC Alpine Ski Race of the season.
Baird finished the race in first place, completing the slalom course in a time of 41.48 seconds.
Hampshire’s Edward Przybyla wasn’t far behind Baird, earning a second place finish with a run of 41.66 seconds. Fellow Raider Dawson Kelly took fourth (42.94) while Billy Warren (15th, 48.94), Jon Dunn (16th, 49.01) and Evan Novak (21st, 49.92) joined them in the top 25 for Hampshire.
Northampton placed three boys in the top 25, with Keller Mahoney taking ninth (47.61), Charlie Ames earning 13th (48.82) and Alex Sirois finishing in 20th (49.89). For PVCICS, Teddy Scott placed 11th (48.05) and James Scott took 14th (48.86).
In the girls race, PVCICS’s Sarah Fardal earned a fourth place finish with a time of 34.57 on the giant slalom course.
Hampshire placed four girls in the top 25, with Ella Cleary taking fifth (34.64), Dana Warren placing 14th (38.2), Talya Gilman earning 18th (39.11) and Hannah Burke finishing in 21th (39.95). Amherst’s Vivi Bernier placed 13th (37.81) and Northampton’s Giselle Ohm took 17th (38.97) on Thursday.
