■Danco Inc. has a new furniture showroom and warehouse on the main floor of a building owned by Calduwood Enterprises at 269 Locust St. The 14,000-square-foot showroom replaces the company’s former Hatfield showroom, although Danco’s shop on Green Street will remain open.
■Jay Judge of Southampton is the new president of the Western Massachusetts chapter of Democratic Women on Wheels. She was elected at the annual meeting of the organization at the Highpoint Inn in Chicopee.
■A longtime auto repair business on Pleasant Street may be torn down and a four-story office building put up in its place. City Auto Repair owner Robert Callander has signed a purchase-and-sale agreement with city businessmen Matthew Pitoniak and Charles Bowles. The project would be the largest new building erected downtown in more than a decade.
■Five Beanie Babies, to be raffled to raise money for the Hospice/VNA Alliance in Northampton, are being kept in a vault at the Northampton Cooperative Bank. Beanie Babies have become a national craze among collectors and stuffed-animal fanciers.
■Easthampton Mayor Michael A. Tautznik has been named a “Housing Hero” by the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, a public nonprofit that works with the state government to help increase affordable housing in Massachusetts. He received the honor at the Housing Partnership’s annual training institute in Devens on Wednesday.
■Amherst resident Michelle Chamuel was named runner-up on “The Voice” finale Tuesday night, coming in second to winner Danielle Bradbery. On “The Voice,” which just concluded its fourth season, singers from across the country compete while being mentored by music star coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira.
