I got to know Gwen Agna when I served on the superintendent search committee, so I have seen her in action. I was impressed by her common sense and by her commitment to students and to the larger community.
Having been a superintendent of schools and then a college president for a total of over 35 years, I have known many, many trustees and school board members. And I can confidently claim that Gwen is one of the very best. As Jackson Street School parents or former students can tell you, she is a caring and thoughtful educator. As teachers can attest, she is an effective leader and advocate. And as anyone who follows these matters knows, she is a careful steward of the budget.
I urge voters to support Gwen Agna for a second term as at-large member of the Northampton School Committee.
Remember the old saying: “You give up complaining rights if you don’t vote.”
