Thank you for the lovely article promoting our Dec. 15 Messiah singalong [Messiah sing a benefit for Toy Fund,” Gazette, Dec. 9].

An event of this scale is only possible with the support of many people. I would particularly like to highlight the generosity of the Rev. Tom Synan and Grace Church of Amherst, who are sponsoring and hosting for no fee; Grant Moss, who is playing organ and acting as a co-producer; and violinists Amanda Stenroos and Colleen Jennings and bass player and ARHS orchestra conductor Yasu Suzuki, who are both playing and helping to recruit orchestra members.

Messiah sings are for everyone — they bring together people from all generations and musical and cultural backgrounds. The audience is the chorus, and we lift up each other in song. Even if you only want to listen or hum along with Hallelujah, you are welcome. Some scores will be available, but if you own a copy, please bring it.

Arianne, Noah and I are honored to help support such a worthy cause, and continue this important cultural tradition. I hope many Gazette readers can attend, and help us raise money for families in need.
