I appreciated Gazette reporter Alexander Macdougall’s article about Manna’s Thanksgiving Day meal [“‘One big family’: Manna serves more than 1,000 Thanksgiving meals,” Gazette, Nov. 24]. I was especially happy to see Oliver Hoyt featured (along with his father) as one of the volunteers.

I delivered meals, and while waiting in my car for meals to be brought to me, I watched Oliver and another young man (as well as many others) working non-stop bringing meals to cars, In addition to their youth, and the fact that they worked for more hours than I can imagine, I must say Oliver’s chef’s coat was particularly charming.

In any event, there is hope for the world with young people like these in it. Thank you to them, and to their parents. Well done!
