BELCHERTOWN — The body of a 27-year-old Belchertown man, last seen by his family two days earlier, was discovered in a wooded area of town Thursday morning, according to the Northwestern district attorney’s office.
Belchertown police officers and firefighters, State Police detectives assigned to the Northwestern district attorney’s office, pilots with the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing unit and a Special Emergency Response Team searched for the missing man on foot, by helicopter and with drones Wednesday afternoon and evening and again Thursday morning, when the body was located.
No foul play is suspected and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
