EASTHAMPTON — The Committee to Elect Jason “JT” Tirrell will hold an official campaign kickoff event for JT Tirrell, candidate for mayor of Easthampton, on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Keystone Building’s Boylston Room, 122 Pleasant St.
All Easthampton residents are invited to meet Tirrell and hear his vision for the city. Tirrell announced his candidacy for mayor in mid-May.
A lifelong Easthampton resident, Tirrell, 53, fell in love with public service when his involvement in local youth sports led him to a position on the Parks and Recreation Commission. From there, he was elected to the City Council in 2023, where he currently serves as an at-large member. For the past 13 years, he has served as the equipment manager at The Williston Northampton School, which he graduated from before completing a criminal justice and sociology degree at Castleton University in Vermont.
Suggested donations of $25, $50, $100, $250, or $500 can be made at the event or online at www.jtforeasthampton.com, with checks payable to the Committee to Elect Jason JT Tirrell.

The open sites will be located at Amherst Regional Middle School, from June 23 to Aug. 15, and at Amherst Regional High School from June 30 to Aug. 8. At both sites, breakfast will be handed out from 8:30-9 a.m., and lunch from 12-12:30 p.m. The sites will be closed on July 4.
The following sites will also participate in the Summer Meals Program, but are closed-enrolled. Meals are provided only to children enrolled in specific programs: Crocker Farm Elementary School, July 7 to Aug. 15; Groff Park Athletics Facility: June 23 to July 3; and Wildwood Elementary School, June 30 to Aug. 8. At these sites, breakfast will be handed out from 8:30-9 a.m., and lunch from 12-12:30 p.m.
