Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution states, “The Congress shall have the Power To … declare War …” Before President Donald Trump bombs Iraq and possibly starts World War III, doesn’t Congress have to declare war?
According to The Federation of American Scientists, Israel has about 90 nuclear warheads. Why shouldn’t Iran have a nuclear weapon?
Is it about Israel or because Iran has the 4th largest oil reserves on Earth, just above Iraq, which the U.S. has already invaded twice? Might Iran want a nuclear weapon to deter the oil gluttonous U.S., which uses more oil than any other country, from invading that nation?
America ranks 9th in oil reserves, with one third the reserves of Iran. According to the International Energy Agency, we Americans use over 6.5 times as much oil per person as China and overall about 21 million barrels of oil/day compared to China’s 16 million barrels a day, the next largest consumer.
Before starting another war, this time with Iran, a country with over 90 million people that has not attacked us, perhaps we need to take a long pause and question our own motives.
