Thank you so much for the July 29 article about the MassReconnect program.

This is the program where individuals 25 and older who have never obtained a bachelorโ€™s degree can attend community college free of tuition. Thereโ€™s great testimones to how both Greenfield Community College and Holyoke Community College are seeing increasing enrollment, of people taking advantage of this program. And your article cited a student who attended Springfield Technical Community College through this program, and is now working toward a bachelorโ€™s in nursing.

We too often hear cynics scoff about how government never does anything right. To those doubters, I show them MassReconnect. Kudos to Gov. Maura Healey and everyone involved; Iโ€™d be hard pressed to think of a better example of how our government is making life better for others, through direct action.

As our own Sen. Jo Comerford said, โ€œItโ€™s heartening to see the continued positive impact of robust state investment in Massachusetts students and our campus through MassReconnect.โ€

Senator, I couldnโ€™t agree more. Bravo!
