Among the many things that show some people are just not thinking clearly is the constant advice to “write to their elected officials urging them to support increasing funding for” [fill in blank here]. This is an actual quote from an Op-Ed in the Gazette on Aug. 1.
Writing Rep. Jim McGovern or any other Democrat is going to do nothing, nada, and zilch. These elected officials are already voting the way most Democrats want them to. Writing to them won’t change what’s happening in Washington.
So let’s get real! Tell people to write to Republicans urging them to support increased funding for the programs that help people lead better lives. Let them hear from some people that are mad as hell!
And stop treating Democrats as if they’re part of the problem. They aren’t.
