Teachers, staff, students and families have all been busy preparing for the first day of school in our city. Soon, teachers and their students will also welcome Volunteers in Northampton Schools to join them.
VINS volunteers have been bringing helping hands and good will into our schools for over 40 years. Last year, 45 volunteers regularly served in every school as helpers, mentors, tutors and friends. They show with their time, care and presence how deeply our community values public education and appreciates the outstanding effort of NPS district teachers and staff.
As members of an independent non-profit organization, we, the Board of Directors of VINS, appreciate the contributions of the volunteers and also the teachers and staff members who welcome and guide them โback to school.โ We also appreciate the leadership of Superintendent Portia Bonner, who has participated as an active member of our board, offering encouragement, guidance, and connections that have helped VINS grow and thrive.
We invite you to become a VINS volunteer by contacting VINS coordinator Andres Cucalon Molina at vinsvolunteer@gmail.com or visiting our new website: https://www.vinsnorthampton.com.
