Loisel is a listener

I have been an enthusiastic member of Laurie Loisel’s campaign committee since early spring. Over the months that the committee has met, I’ve noticed a few things:
1. We are a large, committed and, boy howdy!, an opinionated group. Through it all, Laurie remains a committed listener and collaborator, respecting everyone involved in the process.
2. She makes her own decisions based on what she learned through the listening and explains her thinking when she does.
3. When I joined her on one of her many door-knocking adventures in Ward 3, she met those at the door with genuine curiosity and interest in their concerns and opinions of the ward. Literally, her first question was always, “What are your main concerns about Ward 3?”Then she’d listen for as long as the neighbor wanted to share. Sometimes it was three minutes, sometimes it was 15. Didn’t matter — Laurie was in from the minute she asked the question.

I’m excited to vote for Laurie Loisel Sept. 16 and I hope my Ward 3 neighbors will join me.
