On Saturday, Sept. 20, the fourth annual Northampton Neighbors DoozyDo Parade will be held on Main Street, Northampton, beginning at 33 Hawley St. and ending at Pulaski Park. Starting at 11 a.m., this will be a magical day of celebrating Northampton and embracing our community as a wonderful place to live. For 76 years, I have been watching and sometimes participating in Northampton parades. Many with different themes, and all enhancing the wonderful community we live in. Join us to embrace the vitality and creativity of our community. There will be pop-up bands and family-fun offerings along the parade route on the City Hall steps, Thornes Marketplace sidewalk, Gombo sidewalk, First Churches Lawn, and Amber Way. There will be musical performances following the parade in Pulaski Park, and world-famous local musicians at the Iron Horse. All are welcome to march with us or soak it in from the sidelines. This parade, an on-going celebration, is not to be missed! For more details, check out doozydo.org.
