Northampton held a busy preliminary election on Tuesday, narrowing the field for mayor and four City Council races. The mayor’s race featured four candidates, two of whom advanced to the municipal election in November, while the six-candidate at-large field was winnowed to four. In Wards 1, 3 and 5, each of which featured three candidates, one person was eliminated. Election results are available online at gazettenet.com and in print on Thursday.
