Whately’s Jake Barnett, and Casie Eifrig of Amherst College, won the men’s and women’s races in the 43rd Summit Run 5K up Mount Holyoke in Hadley on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Barnett set a course record, crossing the finish line in 19 minutes, 39 seconds, while Eifrig finished in 24:27.

More than 200 runners competed on the redesigned course that included 881 feet of uphill terrain, plus views of the Connecticut River and the Pioneer Valley from the summit of Mount Holyoke.

Adult Pickleball Tournament

The Northampton Parks & Recreation Department (NPRD) and Northampton Friends of Pickleball (NFP) invite players of all levels to join the Adult Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025. The two-day event features a mix of skill-based matchups, team play, adaptive play and singles competitions, offering something for everyone. The Tournament will take place at the Pickleball Courts at Ray Ellerbrook Field, 48 Burts Pit Road, Northampton, MA 01060.
