My parents taught me that when you are in a heated situation “ Stop, take a deep breath, collect your thoughts, do not say or do anything to polarize the issue and use your words to build consensus.” Sadly, the political discourse at all levels of government has gotten off track by pitting voters against one another, thereby diminishing the strength we gain when we work together.
I believe Robbie Saner Sullivan will listen and learn all sides of an issue with the intention of building consensus to reach the best outcome for the students of Northampton. Robbie recognizes and understands the many issues facing our school system. As a member of the School Committee, I believe she will lead with compassion and empathy when engaging her colleagues and members of the community.
Robbie will be an independent voice on the School Committee and will not be drawn into the “Us vs. Them” debate. She will support funding our schools while being fiscally responsible to ensure that the budget and allocated funds will produce the maximum benefit for students.
Elections have consequences. Who we elect to represent our interests matters. I believe Robbie Saner Sullivan is a candidate who will take the job seriously. She has my vote.
