I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to support Robbie Saner Sullivan for an at-large seat on the Northampton School Committee. I have known Robbie for 25 years, since our children attended Jackson Street School together. We remained connected as public school and sports parents, PTO members and special events volunteers at Jackson Street, JFK and Northampton High School, and now as volunteers at Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst.

I support Robbie because she shares my love for our community and our kids, a passionate belief in the importance of opportunities provided in our public schools, and the need to continue to strive for excellence in our schools — while partnering responsibly with city leaders to provide necessary city services to all residents.

If you feel you need to know more about Robbie, I recommend her powerful and articulate Sept. 26 guest column in this paper. Her deep compassion, energy, commitment, and ability to see and understand both the big picture and the nuts and bolts actions needed to achieve those goals shine forth in every word.
