Florence, MA – Patricia I. Armes, 90, of Bridge Road, Florence, passed peacefully to heaven on October 3, 2025, at Holyoke Medical Center. Pat was born on July 26, 1935, to the late Walter G. Evans Sr. and Inez Wells (Bisbee) Evans of Williamsburg MA. where she graduated from Williamsburg High School.
Patricia Evans and Bernard Armes were married on August 21, 1954, in South Deerfield and spent their married life in South Deerfield, Hatfield and Florence. Pat worked for many years for Dr. Robert C. Byrne in Hatfield and then for many more years at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. Pat and Bernie enjoyed many ski vacations in their younger years in the U.S. and abroad and also enjoyed vacationing on various tropical islands. They enjoyed tending their vegetable and flower gardens for many years, and especially enjoyed their poodles Susie, Lucky and Eclair. Pat’s Catholic faith was important to her and over the years had been a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church of South Deerfield and Our Lady of the Cross in Holyoke.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years Bernard Armes (2008), her sister Priscilla Evans-Myers (2024) of Holyoke and her brother Walter G. Evans Jr. of Greenfield.
Pat leaves her son Alan G. Armes Sr. (Freddie), her grandson Alan G. Armes Jr., her sister-in-law, Annette Doty, nieces Dawn Howard (Marc), Kristy Cutting (Mark), Amber Myers, Christine Doty, Cindy Doty (Michael) and nephews, Thomas Ford (Windy) and Lawrence Doty (Lauri), along with many more nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Leon Shippee, to cherish her memory.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. followed by a Prayer service at 11 a.m. at the DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME OF NORTHAMPTON with burial following in Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery in South Deerfield.
In lieu of flowers donations in Pat’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 225 N. Michigan Ave.,17th Flr., Chicago IL 60601-7833.
