Hester Davis

Amherst, MA – Hester Anne Davis (Cohen), age 40, entered into final rest after a long and courageous health battle on September 12, 2025.

Hester was born June 1, 1985 to Anne and Paul Cohen and grew up alongside her older brothers, Yurii and Justin Cohen, in Amherst, MA. From a young age, she showed a remarkable creative gift that became the thread of her life’s work. She was an avid stained-glass and sketch artist, using her craft to bring beauty and light to others. She also earned an associate’s degree and carried her love for learning into every aspect of life and passed that on to her children.

Affectionately called “Hes” by family and friends, she will be remembered most for her warmth, her laughter, her free spirit, and her devotion as a mother. Her children were her greatest joy: West, Ataydn (Tay), Riley, and Carter. Her deeply loved little girl Rhea sadly died as an infant. In Hester’s youth, she took part in many things like softball, biking, scuba diving, and fighting with her brothers. She always won according to her memories.

In her last few years, although she struggled through painful health issues, Hester fought through her pain and provided her family with laughter and celebration of life. She is survived by her parents, her brothers, her children, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Though her life was far too short, she leaves behind the gifts of her art, the lessons of her strength, her everlasting faith in Christ, and a peace that surpassed all understanding. Her friends can remember her best by being as compassionate, loving, and caring with each other as she was.
