Many of us are feeling some combination of helpless and frightened. I just want you to know that the only reason I am here is that in Paris during World War II, a Catholic family who felt helpless and frightened did the one thing that they could do: they hid a young Jewish woman for two years. That was my mother.

Whatever you can do to love our country and fight for its soul right now may have ripple effects for years to come. If you can, join local Indivisibles and others in Springfield on Oct. 18 at the intersection of Boston Road and Parker Street at noon. Peacefully and joyfully show your love for America and proudly say, โ€œNo Kings in America since 1776.โ€
