I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Robbie Saner Sullivan for School Committee at large. Robbie graduated from the Northampton public schools, as did her parents and her children. Her experience is long and deep. She served actively in every kind of school volunteer role when her children were in school, and she actually created new ones by helping to found the Northampton Athletic Booster Club in 2009, which is still going strong today. She also served on the most recent Charter Review Committee in 2019, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the city government in which our schools are situated.
Robbie cares deeply about Northampton’s public schoolchildren, and understands the crucial importance of public schools to our community. She is thoughtful, smart, curious and open minded. She will bring an independent perspective and fresh thinking to her role. She will work respectfully with her colleagues, to understand differing points of view and search for common ground.
When I first learned that Robbie was running, my mind immediately went back to her mother’s excellent school committee service many years ago, and I can only imagine how proud she would be if she could see Robbie taking this step. Please join me in voting for her on Nov/ 4.
