I have observed or participated in electoral politics in Northampton during the last 50 years, first as a journalist at the Daily Hampshire Gazette for 42 years and more recently as a city councilor since 2022.

I cannot recall a more consequential municipal election than this year’s to ensure that Northampton elects public officials committed to balancing services that meet the needs of the entire city with fiscal responsibility.

I urge you to join me in voting Nov. 4 at the Jackson Street School, or during early voting in City Hall that begins Oct. 18, for these candidates who share my vision of forward-looking leadership and fact-based decision-making: incumbent Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra; Gwenevra Nabad for Ward 1 city councilor; Benjamin Spencer and incumbent Garrick Perry for at-large city councilor; and Roberta “Robbie” Saner Sullivan for at-large School Committee.

Stanley Moulton, Ward 1 city councilor
