I have known and followed Benjamin Spencer’s interests and advocacies for a few years through social media and general media and in person. I first started seeing his posts a year or two ago for “Village Hill Preservation.” I was struck by how thoughtful he was in his interests for people in our community. I noticed that he researched his topics deeply and presented his findings as well as others opinions in a respectful manner. He is a strong advocate of local affordable housing. He is all about community and bringing people together to discuss Northampton, past, present, and future. I believe he is supportive of a vibrant downtown that is safe for pedestrians and bicyclists and cars. I always park in the garage so that I can walk around town without worrying about when my parking time is up. The first hour is free and the rest is tracked until you come back, super easy. I support local businesses far and above any online choices. I only go to big box stores and online if I can’t find something locally. As a local musician and artist, I know how important local support is. Benjamin Spencer listens and speaks for the people. I think he will be a great councilor at large for Northampton.
