I’m writing in support of Gwen Nabad for Ward 1 city councilor! I worked for two large affordable housing management corporations out of Boston as a social service director. I oversaw four different properties in various cities across western Massachusetts for more than 10 years. I have witnessed Gwen working selflessly within the community predominantly within the areas of both low income and affordable housing. She’s been extremely instrumental in assisting and encouraging residents to form local tenants organizations within the Northampton Housing Authority. She has been a member and is now the chair of the Northampton Housing Partnership. Having been a resident herself she understands how it feels to be susceptible to poor living conditions such as bursting water pipes, leaking roofs, and outdated HVAC systems. Gwen exhibits a passion that far surpasses many others who actually work in the field of low-income housing. She has opened her own home for resident meetings and has traveled to developments to assist residents across the region. This type of passion and dedication is exactly what the city of Northampton needs. Ward 1, vote for Gwen!
