I lived in Northampton for 20 years and now live out of state, so I can’t vote for Laurie Loisel for Northampton City Council in Ward 3, but I can tell you how strongly I feel that Laurie is the best candidate.
I have known Laurie since 1987, when we were both young reporters for the Daily Hampshire Gazette, working out of the Easthampton bureau and covering that city. What struck me about Laurie when I first met her back then was how strong and well-rounded she was as a person, and she continues to be so.
Perhaps from her long career as a newspaper reporter and editor, Laurie takes nothing for granted and assumes nothing. She is objective, asks questions, does research, reflects, seeks solutions, asks more questions and builds trust. Laurie is compassionate, loyal and dedicated to whatever initiative she sets her mind on.
I would be honored to vote for Laurie in the Nov. 4 election. Instead, I urge you to do so. Laurie will make you proud you did.
