A question for local and state representatives: Regarding the impending tsunami of solar projects that will flood rural communities in western Massachusetts due to recent legislation (“WMass towns brace for wave of solar projects under new state rules,” Gazette, Oct. 28) when real estate values in the affected towns plummet due to accompanying noise pollution and lack of potable water, when and how exactly will the state reimburse residents for the devastating loss of quiet enjoyment of their homes? No walls are high enough nor quantities of water enormous enough to mitigate the damage to the owners’ quality of life. And 30 acres of axed trees won’t be replaced, ever.
