Westhampton, MA – Evelyn Blakesley, 80, of Westhampton, passed away at home on November 14th, and was surrounded by her family in her final days.
Evelyn was born on April 21, 1945, daughter of Leslie and Lucy Inman. She lived all her life in Westhampton. She worked in the business office at Cooley Dickinson Hospital but spent most of her working years at the Agway and Westfield Home and Garden Centers in Westfield. She was a member of the Westhampton Congregational Church for the past 66 years.
In her spare time, Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed gardening, spending summers in and around their pool, crafting of all kinds, most especially the Christmas ornaments they gave to family and friends every year instead of cards. Flowers were her passion and her gardens were always a point of great pride and joy. She loved to organize, cook and bake for all sorts of parties with family and friends. She was an amazing baker and many were lucky enough to be the receiver of one of her wonderfully decorated cakes.
Her husband of 60 years, Donald Blakesley, was by her side and helped care for her for the past few years. She was extremely proud of and is survived by daughters, Pam Zalot (Scott Wallbank), Lynette Blakesley, son Todd Blakesley (Katie), her loving grandchildren Dakota (Lauretta) Blakesley, Kiara Blakesley, William, Julia and Lauren D’Astous and Dakota Matherson. She also leaves behind sisters Jackie LaFrance and Janice Tracy, twin brother Ernest Inman and brother Clifton Inman along with several generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and two of her siblings Doris Helen Murray and Charles Inman.
