When traveling down Route 5 leaving Northampton you travel past the Oxbow of the Connecticut River and enter Easthampton. The first light you come to is where you can make a right turn on to East Street. That light went in when Dunkin’ open up near the corner.

Coming off East Street onto Route 5 before the light was installed was difficult. Coming to the light on Route 5 there are two lanes and two lights. The right lane is a bicycle lane but can be used as a right lane for cars when not being used by bicycles. If everyone would read these rules, more cars would be using the right lane to make a right turn.

Why do so many in the left lane have their right lane blinker on but they’re in the left lane? I’m in the right lane to turn right. Am I going to get hit because I’m in the correct lane? Come on drivers — read the rules.
