Several years ago a group of men and women (I was one) from the new Northampton Senior Center came up with an idea for a bocce court. After many meetings and fundraising, one finally was built at Arcanum Field in Bay State. Lots of people young and old played and had lot of fun.

I knew many people on the committee but most have passed away. I want to thank the ones bringing back an old tradition [“Bocce rolls into Look Park,” Gazette, Oct. 24]. Lots of families on Market Street played bocce in their yards.
