NORTHAMPTON, MA – John Francis Bouthillette, 91, of Pine Brook Curve passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday morning with his beloved wife Rita and family at his side. John was born in Northampton, a son of the late Francis J. and Eva M. (Gallien) Bouthillette. He was a lifelong resident of the city, attending local schools and graduated from Northampton High School. John enlisted in the National Guard, serving his country proudly. He worked for the Northampton School Department in the maintenance and custodial departments over 35 years before retiring. John married Rita MaryJane (Lefevre) on December 29, 1956, and they enjoyed 69 years of marriage, family and happiness together. John enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He was involved with scouting when his sons were younger and was a member of the Hatfield Fife & Drum Corp and a longtime member of the 6th Massachusetts Militia. John was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Northampton. He leaves his beloved wife, Rita (Lefevre) Bouthillette. His children; Kevin F. Bouthillette and his wife Ellen of Holyoke, Laurie J. Mathers and her husband Joseph of Florence, Lisa E. Kincy and her husband Nathan of Omaha, NE. and Gary F. Bouthillette and his wife Patricia of Los Angeles, CA. as well as six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. John's funeral services and burial in Spring Grove Cemetery will be announced in the Spring. Donations in John's memory may be made to the Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202
