Why can countries like Costa Rica, Paraguay, Iceland and Norway generate almost all of their electricity from renewables while we are talking about nuclear power? Denmark, Brazil, New Zealand, Albania and Sweden are not far behind these countries. China is working on renewable energy. I have solar panels on my roof and I get a zero electric bill every month. This is the second home I have put them on with the same result.
Sixty-two casks of spent nuclear fuel sit at Pilgrim in Plymouth in 1/2″ steel containers waiting for an environment accident. It has been six years since the plant closed and there is no place to put it. Nobody wants spent nuclear waste in their town, or buried in a mountain or down South in some poor neighborhood.
Our legislators need to stop trying to sneak nuclear projects by the people. It is essential that we have the right to decide if we want to live next to either large power plants or small distributed power stations. Lets be progressive. Haven’t we done enough damage to our world?
