Every day I read in the paper and on the news, how generous and caring we all are in the Valley, Toys for Tots, neighbors helping neighbors, food pantries and all the other non-profit and church organizations. All of these organizations have one thing in common — they are all sharing their resources, whether it be food, clothing or other needs.
If we could all be vigilant “if we see something, say something.” If we see resources, especially valuable resources, that are not being shared, then we can and should unite and correct this inequity .

A prime example of an underutilized resource, that is not being shared, is the Norwottuck Rail Trail. It is winter and wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all share this resource with all our neighbors, friends, relatives and people who enjoy the winter activity of snowmobiling. This resource is far too valuable to be exclusive of a large part of our Valley community.

We have all just celebrated a very reflective holiday time of year from Thanksgiving through New Year’s. We experienced the giving and sharing of our resources with all of our neighbors. It is a new year and we all know that we can make 2026 a better year in which we can share more, beginning with the Norwottuck Rail Trail. So, let’s all unite and create one voice that can be heard by our municipal and state legislators and correct this inequality.
