Having just read George Orwell’s “1984,” it seems clear to me now that President Donald Trump, his closest advisors, his billionaire buddies and The Heritage Foundation have taken their inspiration for his foreign and domestic policies directly from Big Brother. 1984 tells the story of a future world order in which there are three spheres of global control. One, the territory from Russia West to the English Channel. Two, from Great Britain throughout the Western Hemisphere. Three, the Indian, Asian and Pacific regions.
Orwell portrays each as permanently in place with large militaries, nukes and the shared agreement that they will not directly attack each other. However, in order to keep control in their own sphere, there will be “skirmishes” along their borders to keep their “citizens” in constant fear and anxiety. Domestically, they will keep a close watch with cameras, audio recordings and hidden informants; always looking for any sign of resistance to Big Brother’s total control, including rewriting history and current affairs to reflect kindly on Big Brother.
Trump’s world vision appears much the same to me. Gaslighting, military in the streets, ICE cruelty and brutality, show trials and threats of political execution. I hear every state will have federal rapid response forces. To what ends? Putting down protests? Intimidating voters? I believe these are real and frightening prospects! It now appears the global powers that be are moving toward that shared agreement. Trump appears to be backing out of NATO. By threatening Canada, Greenland, Mexico, the Panama Canal and invading Venezuela, Trump has put his name on the Western Hemisphere from Argentina to the Arctic. Russia’s Putin is moving West, unstopped by Trump. China intends to extend control throughout the Pacific. Beware, Big Brother is Coming. No — he is here.
