Linda Loven

Amherst, MA – On January 14, 2026 Linda L (Vendette) Loven passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born in Northampton, MA on August 20, 1949, she was the daughter of Edward and Florence (Page) Vendette. She was a lifelong Amherst resident and worked for the Office of Admissions at Amherst College. She retired early to care for her aging mother.

Linda and her husband Matthias (Matt) spent ten winters in Punta Gorda, FL where they enjoyed the beach, finding flea markets, outdoor concerts by the Peace River and spending time with family. Linda loved to quilt, crochet and needle point. She made countless baby blankets and crocheted hundreds of hats to donate to the Veterans through the Elks Club in Turners Falls where her and Matt have been members for years. She also loved spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners. She loved all the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite.

She leaves behind her husband Matt of over 56 years, her two daughters Christine and her husband Michael and Jennifer and her husband Daniel. She also leaves behind her two granddaughters Veronica and Julia-Ann and her husband Cristo as well as great-granddaughters Katarzyna and Lucretia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sidney Smith Toy Fund and Cooley Dickenson VNA/Hospice.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 – 6 pm at the Douglass Funeral Service, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 am at St. Brigid’s Church, burial will follow in St. Brigid’s Cemetery. Memorial guestbook at www.douglassfuneral.com
