Katt Alonzo Bodziak

Northampton, MA – Katt Alonzo Bodziak, 57, passed away at home in early December. Katt is survived by her/their mother Bobbie Bodziak of Springfield, sister Carmen Bodziak-Sullivan, and brother Toby Bodziak. "She didn't have much, but what she did, she shared." Katt was born in Springfield in 1968, moved to Northampton in the early 1990s, and stayed.

Katt knew housing precarity, addiction and recovery, trauma, and isolation, and had a heart that ached for people's struggles. They loved their cat Plato, plants, music, and literature. Katt wanted to meet people's needs, and would sometimes collect and give away food and clothing in the park. They found their voice in writing poetry and creating art, and making "Warrior Ant" Facebook posts, and in taking a homemade bike rickshaw to city hall with a "Housing is a Human Right" banner. "Remember to speak your story with a warrior ant's glory. Love Katt"

A memorial will be held Sat Jan 24th, 3-5 pm at St John's Church, 48 Elm St, Northampton.
