Chesterfield, MA – Anne D. Wiktor, age 73, passed away on October 31, 2025. Anne was born April 11, 1952, the daughter of Edward and Anne Elizabeth (McCarthy) Wiktor. She was a 1974 graduate of the University of Connecticut’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources with a BS in animal science, where she was a member of the Equestrian Team. Following college, Anne worked for the Connecticut Department of Agriculture where she oversaw the development of the iconic ‘Connecticut Grown’ logo that is used on Nutmeg State farm products. She was the recipient of a Kellogg Foundation Fellowship for the New England Rural Leadership Program.
Anne was a life long accomplished equestrian and coach, having ridden and taught students for more than 40 years. She competed and won at numerous dressage, eventing and jumping events including horse shows in Orange County, Upperville and Warrenton, VA and the United States Pony Clubs Championships East. Anne was a riding instructor at Mount Holyoke College and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a member of the United States Equestrian Federation. She was also the advertising manager for In and Around Horse Country magazine in Warrenton, VA and prior to that, equine and carriage collection manager at Ayrshire Farm in Upperville, VA. In addition to her love for horses, she had many dogs and cats as companions over the years.
Anne leaves behind her brothers Dan of Wakefield Massachusetts, Robert of Falls Church Virginia, her sister Mary Morgan of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania as well as their respective spouses Mary Mott, Jodi Solomon Wiktor and Robert Morgan. In addition she leaves behind several cousins, nephews and a niece. She is also survived by her longtime partner Matt L. Barron of Chesterfield.

A memorial service celebrating Anne’s life will be held Sunday, April 26, 12 noon-2PM at the Chesterfield Community Center, 400 Main Road.
