Caitlin Robertson, the newly hired greenhouse horticulturist at the Botanic Garden of Smith College at the Lyman Plant House and Conservatory, gets ready for the spring bulb show, which opens Saturday, March 7. Robertson talks about the difficulty of creating the color scheme she wants in a "sea of green" since the bulbs have not bloomed yet. "I am trying to create a red pathway but I can't see if that reads. I am kinda flying blind," Robertson said. Another bulb show in the area opens Saturday, March 7 at the Botanic Garden at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. CAROL LOLLIS / Staff Photo
