Three strikes and you’re out but only in baseball. Pete Hegseth loves to incorporate football terms in his bellicose statements regarding the United States attack upon Iran. Perhaps the Democrats should imitate sports imagery as well. What comes to mind is “ three strikes and you’re out.”
When campaigning for his second term as president, Donald Trump repeatedly made three promises to voters. First, he criticized Joe Biden for the high prices impacting most Americans and promised to lower them upon re-election. A consistent critic of intervention in foreign wars he denigrated NATO and indicated that we would not become entangled in wars abroad. America would be great again by being “first.” And employing the most invented and unverified description of undocumented immigrants he swore he would deport the most dangerous criminals.
And as anyone paying attention, and referring to credible news, realizes Trump has failed miserably on all three promises. The new Democratic rallying call should be “three strikes and you’re out.” Or alternatively, should the Epstein files finally cause an unbiased investigation, the chant could be “three indictments and off to the pen.”
