Ben Tompkins, a student in the fifth and sixth grade combined class at the R.H. Conwell Elementary school in Worthington, works on constructing a washer and dryer as part of his tiny home. The project is part of a math and science unit taught by Alec MacLachlan. The project integrates calculating area and volume and making blue prints and models as well as figuring out what one needs to make a home work such as electricity and water using renewable as well as nonrenewable resourses.
