EDWARD “TUNER” R. WEST SR.

Hadley, MA – Edward (“Tuner”) R. West, Sr., 84, of Hadley, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly at home on March 17, 2026.

Born on June 18, 1941, in Northampton, Ed was the son of the late Roger West and Catherine (Yarrows) West. A lifelong resident of Hadley, he graduated from Smith Vocational’s post-graduate mechanics program and went on to become the sole proprietor of West Auto Repair, which he owned and operated for more than 50 years. Through his work, Ed built lasting relationships in the community and was known for his skill, integrity, and dedication.

Ed enjoyed his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events. He also cherished his annual trips to the Daytona 500, regular lunches shared with close friends and spent many years playing in local pitch card leagues. We are grateful to his friends who lived in his complex at Greenleaves Retirement Community in Hadley.

He is survived by his children, Edward West Jr.; Catherine West Lowry and her husband, Bob; Rebecca Martin and her husband, Bryan; Daniel West; Jennifer West; and Suzanne West. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Patrick West and his partner Alaska Pinard; Drew West; Katelyn and Leah Martin; and Ella and Brendan Lowry, along with great grandchildren Rowan West and baby girl West due in April. He also leaves his siblings and many extended family members and friends.

Ed will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his family, and the many friendships he built throughout his life.
