As a Shutesbury resident for more than 20 years, I am writing to express my strong support for Jim Walton for the Shutesbury Select Board.
Jim has been on Shutesbury’s Finance Committee for more than 10 years. The Finance Committee does some of the hardest volunteer work in town. Service on this committee means listening carefully to the concerns of residents, thinking strategically about the town’s short- and long-term financial health, and balancing affordability and demand for services. Jim has shown patience, diligence, and a willingness to do complex work that directly affects residents’ livelihoods. Jim’s service on the Finance Committee shows his strong commitment to Shutesbury and makes him uniquely qualified. Shutesbury is fortunate to have someone of Jim’s character and experience ready to serve us on our Select Board.
