Hadley, MA – Harold H. Kulungian, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at The Elaine Center Nursing Home, Hadley, MA.
Harold was born in Worcester, son of the late David and Zevart (Assarian) Kulungian. Harold was predeceased by his brother, John Kulungian, and sisters, Agnes Woolsey and Alice Walker.
The children were raised by the Richardson’s of Oxford when Zevert became ill in 1939.
While in the Air Force he enjoyed table tennis and racing control line airplanes. Harold worked at Raytheon after military service. He possessed a keen memory and enjoyed fixing his old VW’s.
Harold received a B.A. degree from Havard and an M.A. Degree from Tufts. The works of Alfred North Whitehead were a profound influence, and he was friends with the family. Harold was a lifelong researcher and practitioner of Eastern Philosophy and Ying Yang Therory. He was a proponent of the Holistic medicine tradition of natural healing and warned of the dangers of synthetic cloth. Always learning and teaching, he practiced and taught Macrobiotics. Harold was a long-time resident of Amherst and a member of the Quakers.
A graveside service with military funeral honors will be held Monday, April 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, Massachusetts.
