Southampton, our town, has an important Town Meeting scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at 10 a.m. at the Norris School, and an important ballot question vote scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 in the Senior Center from noon to 8 p.m. Each of these events is critical for determining the future of our town.
We need to choose Southampton and ensure that our town is fully functionable. For me, choosing Southampton means voting to approve an override for our town. For me, choosing Southampton means a fully staffed and fully functioning police department, a fully staffed and fully functioning fire department, a fully staffed and fully functioning highway department, providing children with a quality education at Norris, a fully staffed Senior Center with programming and benefits counseling, a fully staffed, fully functioning and accredited Edwards Library, and a fully staffed and fully functioning Town Hall.
The Town Meeting begins at 10 a.m. and arriving at Norris School by 9:30 a.m. would be good so that you can be checked in before the meeting begins. The town clerk will provide information regarding mail-in and early in-person voting. The deadline to register to vote is May 9.
