The Hampshire Regional baseball team scored the go-ahead, game-winning run in the top of the seventh inning to sidestep Easthampton, 4-3, on Monday afternoon.
The Raiders trailed 1-0 until the fourth inning when the visitors plated three runs. The Eagles eventually tied it in the bottom of the sixth, before Hampshire brought in the deciding run during its next chance at the plate.
Joe Breguet’s two RBI double helped the Raiders build their fourth-inning advantage, while Colin Hogan added an RBI as well.
The Eagles received two hits from Patrick Larson, who also took the loss on the mound (6 2/3 innings, four hits, four runs, six walks and nine strikeouts).
Colby Cabrini racked up the strikeouts for Hampshire (12) from the bump, but it was Thomas Moore who earned the win, finishing off the final 1 2/3 innings.
Easthampton dropped to 1-8 in the loss, whereas Hampshire improved to 5-2 overall.
Amherst 8, Chicopee 7 โ Oscar Reich’s two RBI double in the top of the seventh inning led the Hurricanes to a comeback victory after surrendering an early lead.
Greg King smacked an RBI single in the following at-bat to break the tie at 7-7, with Cyrus Arwade shutting the door on the mound.
Softball
Belchertown 13, Central 1 โ Kina Roy’s three-hit (two doubles) and three RBI night helped lead the Orioles to a dominant five-inning victory.
Samantha Letzeisen had three RBIs of her own in the win, going 2-for-3 with a double and three stolen bases. Lila Roy was solid in the circle, allowing one run in five innings with eight strikeouts.
Girls Lacrosse
Chicopee 16, Amherst 12 — Ava Carey had a memorable game for the Hurricanes, tallying career goal No. 100 in the loss to the Pacers.
Carey totaled three goals and an assist for Amherst throughout the contest.
Claire Kennedy (five goals) and Kiko Bhowmik (two goals, two assists) also played well for the ‘Canes.

Wahconah 17, Hampshire 4 โ The Raiders couldn’t keep up with an offensive explosion out of their opponents in a tough loss on Monday night.
Claire Pickard tallied two goals in the loss, with the lone others being scored by Rylie Simmons and Hazel Scully Henry.
Boys Volleyball
Granby 3, Holyoke 0 โ The Rams put together a cohesive match against the Purple Knights on Monday night, sweeping in three sets (25-22, 25-14, 25- 19).
Nathan Walsh finished tied with a team high eight kills in the win, adding on 12 assists, four digs and two aces. Braeden Gallagher led the team with 11 digs and seven aces, tacking on five kills and two assists as well.

Softball
Wachusett 9, Hampshire 6 — The Raiders were neck-and-neck with the Division 1 competitors, until they allowed four runs in the sixth inning.
Raegan Dubay (1-for-4, three RBIs) powered Hampshire at the plate.
Granby 24, Pathfinder 3 — All 12 Rams players who had an at-bat drove in at least one run in the drubbing.
Ellie Szlosek (2-for-5, four RBIs) was Granby’s top batter.
Baseball
Northbridge 10, South Hadley 0
Northbridge 10, South Hadley 0 — The Tigers totaled five hits in a pair of shutout losses on Saturday.
Ultimate
The Amherst Regional Hurricanes Gx (Girls Division) Ultimate Varsity team had a busy weekend, going up against several college teams in East Greenwich, R.I.
Amherst won all three games, beating Stonehill (10-5), Brown (12-3) and URI (6-5) in the one-day tournament.
Sophomore Annika Reddington (eight goals, four assists) and seniors Willa Hudson (three goals, seven assists), and Myla Peltier (four goals, three assists) were fantastic for the Hurricanes.
