My name is Ro Rosen and I want to introduce myself. I am running for Granby Select Board and I would be honored to serve this community.
I moved to Granby a number of years ago to be near my daughter who has lived in the region over 18 years and because when I visited the area throughout those years I found it beautiful and friendly. Since I moved here, I have met many Granby residents who are gracious, dedicated and proud members of their community.
Since moving to Granby, I have been proud to get involved locally as well. Last year I was elected to the board of trustees for the Granby Free Public Library, where I am also a volunteer. I am a volunteer at a regional art gallery, and a supporter of Red Fire Farm.
I bring more than 30 years of experience in state and local government, including as assistant deputy comptroller of the Division of Municipal Affairs in NYS, deputy superintendent of Finance and Administration for the Boston Public Schools, and chief of the Budget Office of the NYS Education Department. I have a broad range of executive experience in finance and human resources โ the skills Granby needs to navigate the budget challenges facing us in the next few years.
It is clear that Granby is facing hugely rising fixed costs and disappearing grants and federal funds that will impact local residents. Granby, like towns all over the state and country, will need to navigate these challenging times. I want to bring my experience and expertise to help our community do that in the best way possible. If you would like to be part of that process with me then I humbly ask for your vote on May 18 .
