As the Gazette recently wrote about, the Florence Community Band is celebrating 25 years. Let’s hear it for the maestro who has created all this magic, Priscilla Ross! Priscilla has given tirelessly to create an ensemble that, for many, is a family. Her dynamic spirit draws many, from a wide range of age and disciplines, to come together. Sure, we all love to make music together, but its more than that. For any group (music or sports) to succeed, you need someone with a vision. That person must be able to convince others to believe in the vision. Priscilla really is like a coach: she recruits, she game-plans, she critiques, and most importantly, she inspires. I love playing for her, and I know I’m not the only one. Congratulations maestro on 25 years, and thank you for the musical family you have created. Three cheers for the leader of the band, Maestro Priscilla Ross!
