The Northampton Post 28 American Legion baseball team (U-19) will be holding tryouts for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 2, Sunday, May 3 and again on Sunday, May 10 at Arcanum Field in Florence from 10 a.m. to noon.

Spring Junior Cyclocross and Mountain Biking Series 

Registration is open for the 2026 Spring Junior Cyclocross and Mountain Biking Series hosted by Northampton Parks & Rec and the Northampton Cycling Club.

The program will be broken into groups based on age. Participants must bring a bike (in good working condition), a snug fitting helmet and a water bottle.

Two Minutemen invited to NFL rookie mini-camps

Keegan Andrews and Malcolm Greene will each get a chance to earn an NFL contract after receiving invitations to attend NFL rookie mini-camps.

Andrews accepted an invitation with the New York Jets, while Greene will remain in-state at camp with the New England Patriots.

In one season at UMass, Andrews set multiple records as the Minutemen’s punter, including punt average (46.5 yards) and punting yards (3,211). The Werribee, Australia native was selected as a Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Second Team All-American.

Greene starred in 11 games for UMass as a graduate transfer and tallied 38 tackles, including a career-best seven against Western Michigan on Oct. 4. The Richmond, Va. product previously played at Virginia and Clemson.
