Brenna Moreno became the latest member of the 100-goal club in the Granby girls lacrosse team’s 12-8 win against Hoosac Valley on Tuesday.
Moreno’s only goal of the contest eclipsed the milestone and helped the Rams snap a three-game losing streak. Moreno also added an assist against the Warriors.
Kalli White found the back of the net five times for Granby, while Mylin Laliberte recorded a hat trick.
In goal, Faith Ramos made five saves for the Rams, who’ll head to Chicopee on Thursday, May 7 next.
Chicopee 15, Hampshire 14 — The Raiders came up just short on senior night, despite a seven-goal game from Rylie Simmons.
Simmons scored five times in a first half that wound up finishing dead even at 8-8.
Reese O’Connell also had a big day on offense, concluding with four tucks.
Boys volleyball
Granby 3, East Longmeadow 0 โ Jake Gagnon’s seven-kill, seven-ace performance helped lead the Rams to a 25-10, 25-19, 25-15 victory in three sets.
Nathan Walsh also had a big night for Granby, picking up 17 assists and seven aces of his own. Braeden Gallagher nearly matched the production of his teammates, tallying seven aces as well, along with six kills in the win.
Ware 3, Belchertown 1 — The Orioles avoided a sweep with a second-set victory against the Indians.
Set scores came in at 14-25, 25-18, 16-25, 22-25.
Softball
Chicopee 8, Granby 6 โ Despite outhitting their opponent eight to seven, the Rams suffered a narrow loss after falling behind in the third inning.
Ellie Szlosek did her best to help complete a comeback, finishing 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, three runs scored and a pair of RBIs in the loss.
Baseball
Amherst 2, Mahar 1โ Brady Klaes pitched all seven innings of the Hurricanes narrow victory in Tuesday night’s pitcher’s duel, recording eight strikeouts without allowing an earned run.
Oscar Reich recorded the lone RBI for Amherst in the win, tallying one of the team’s two hits on the night.
Easthampton 6, Holyoke 2 — Patrick Larson popped a pair of home runs for the Eagles in their non-league victory over the Purple Knights.
Larson finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs.
Justin Rivera led Holyoke with two hits in its third straight defeat.
Smith Academy 7, Libertas 2 โ Harry LaFlamme showed out on senior night for the Falcons, leading his squad with five innings on the mound with nine strikeouts and zero earned runs, adding on a double and an RBI offensively.
Owen Lauder had a solid night in the nine-hole, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs in the win.
Smith Voc. 8, Pathfinder 5 โ Gavin Kukucka’s big night with the bat, finishing 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, helped lead the Vikings to victory.
Corey Kirkendall also put together a multi-hit night in the win, going 2-for-4 at the dish with a triple and a pair of runs driven in.
Girls tennis
Amherst 5, East Longmeadow 0 — Wins continue to roll in for the Hurricanes, who picked up their seventh victory in a row.
The most competitive match of the night came in second doubles as Amherst rallied from a 1-5 deficit in the second set to win 7-6. The final score from the pairing of Aliya Nazirova and Mya Glace came in at 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
Minnechaug 5, Belchertown 0 — The Orioles struggled to find momentum in the sweep against the Falcons.
Boys tennis
Longmeadow 4, PVCICS 1 — The Dragons lost a windy match to the Lancers to halt their six-match winning streak.
Derek Ye (6-4, 6-3) grabbed PVCICS’ only point in second singles and stayed undefeated in the process.

Girls lacrosse
Northampton 10, West Springfield 9 (4OT) — Kaydence Braman netted the golden goal in the fourth overtime period as the Blue Devils outlasted the Bulldogs.
Braman finished the duel with three goals and an assist on the way to Northampton’s third win in a row and second straight in overtime.
West Springfield goalie Olivia Davis sent to the contest to extra time with a clutch free-position save with 0.5 seconds left in regulation.
Smith Voc 12, Southwick 2 — Erin Miller notched a six-goal game for the Vikings in their win over the Rams.
Kaylin Dumas also potted a hat trick for Smith Voc, which stretched its win streak to seven games.
Girls tennis
Holyoke 4, Renaissance 1 — The Purple Knights avenged their loss against the Phoenix last month in the victory at Van Horn Park.
Grace OโShea-Griffis, Madison Bruso, Abby Ngure and Nora Proulx and Elena Carpentier won matches for Holyoke.
